Minutes Summary for 05/18/2010

Meeting was called to order by W9GOC.

Guests - Brij Ramnarine, Zach Peters KC9SDM, Steve W9SAS, and Gary K9AY who is joining FLARC tonight.

Awards – Paulette received an award for her involvement with “Four Days in May”, a four day seminar specializing in a wide range of topics related to QRP.

Upgrades and Callsign Changes – Zach KC9SDM upgraded to General after one month as a Technician. KC9RBZ changed his callsign to WA9D.

VE Report – First weekend of May: 2 Techs, 2 Generals, May 8th and 9th during the General class: 2 techs, and 19 Generals.

Members present went around the room to introduce themselves and talk about their experiences at the Dayton Ham Fest.

A motion was made by Thomas KE6CBR and seconded by WA9D to increase the subsidy to the Technician and General classes from $50 to $75 to help cover class expenses. Motion passed with no one opposed.

Buck Night - KC9OHU, AB9LQ (winner).

Fox Hunt – Thomas KE6CBR is changing the fox hunt date from the 3rd Saturday to the 4th Saturday of the month in order to move the date after the month’s FLARC meeting.

Tonight’s program was a presentation by the Badger B.O.T.S. group, who just returned from the F.I.R.S.T national robotics competition.
