Meeting called to order by KG9NG

Steve Brist upgraded to an extra class - received the callsign AB9RE and had it changed to AB9RR.

VE Report - 7 techs, 6 generals, 4 extras.

Badger weather net - propagation is improving, averaging 75 checkins a day

Boy scouts - W9BYK, Sarah Elizabeth, and Steve will be helping scouts earn their radio merit badge on June 7th from 2pm to 6pm. Each scout needs to spend 10 minutes of radio time to earn the badge. Extra hams to help would be appreciated.

General class is this weekend - 18 students signed up. New format will be used for this class for the first time using more up to date information. Starts this Saturday morning at 8:00.

Field Day - Kevin will be providing food with his daughter. Next month’s meeting will be at the site of FLARC 2008 field day, Badger Prairie Park in Verona.

City of Madison tower permits - setting up a new tower requires a building permit and an additional form, available from FLARC. In Madison there is a 75 foot limit. Anybody who is building a new tower in Madison will need to have it approved by one of three FLARC members, these members are yet to be determined.

The Red Cross is working with the ARRL to possibly find a different 3rd party to provide background checks for anybody working with the Red Cross. Current party, mybackgroundcheck.com, requires blanket release allowing full background check, as well as release holding them not liable for any information released, and not required to keep any information confidential.
