Minutes Summary for 07/20/2010

Meeting was called to order by W9GOC.

Treasurer’s Report - $5428, 70 memberships for 2010, 3 memberships for 2011.

Guests - Pual KC9QMS, and Fred WN9I was previously a member and is getting back into ham radio.

V.E. Report - June: 5 techs, 2 generals, 2 extras. July: 3 generals and 1 extra. The next Technician class is October 2nd and 3rd. We have several new members on the V.E. team.

Foxhunts - 4th Saturday of May: 2 teams participated. Next hunt is July 24th starting from Garner Park at 3:00 pm and the transmitter will be within an 8 mile radius. The official FLARC Foxhunt is August 17th at 7:00pm starting from Garner Park.

Field Day Report - FLARC met at Badger Prairie Park in Verona and had a total of 637 QSOs. We had publicity in the Mount Horeb newspaper and elected officials from Verona and Mount Horeb. Carolyn offered to help Dan with Field Day planning for next year.

New Business - BARS has a new echolink repeater in Madison on 443.6 MHz.

Sporadic E propagation is active right now, and it is currently possible to pick up analog TV stations in Canada and Mexico.

Jamboree on the Air K2BSA will be July 26th trough August 4th.

Buck Night - K9ZT (winner)
